Baccarat is a card game played with a single deck of cards. Wagers are placed in the Tie, Banker and Player areas shown on the table. Cards are dealt from a deck of cards called a shoe. Traditionally, the shoe contains anywhere from six to eight standard 52-card deck without jokers. The “Tie” bet pays 9:1 if won. Each hand will contain either two or three cards. There are three types of bets: Bank Bets, Player Bets and Push Bets. The value of a hand is calculated by adding up the value of the cards. If the hand that you bet on wins, you are paid double your bet, unless you bet on a tie. All other cards are counted at face value. If you bet on the Banker's hand, and win, the House charges a 5% commission. Face cards and Tens have no value and therefore do not contribute to the value of the hand. If you do not bet on a tie, and the hands tie, your bet is returned to you.
