The object of baccarat is to obtain a hand with a point total closest to 9. The hand which is closest to 9 wins. Picture cards and 10's have a value of zero, aces are one and all others are their face value. Traditionally, the shoe contains anywhere from six to eight standard 52-card deck without jokers. In the event of a "Tie", the bet is a push and the "Tie" bet is paid. If the first two cards dealt to the Player or the Banker are equal to five (5) or less, then the respective hand will be dealt a third card. Two hands of cards are dealt, one for the Player and one for the Banker. If either the player and /or the Banker has a total of 8 or 9, they both stand. This Rule overrides all other rules. Player's Hand Wins: 2x the bet. Aces are worth 1 point. The value of a hand is calculated by adding up the value of the cards. Ace cards have a value of one. Face cards and Tens have no value and therefore do not contribute to the value of the hand. If you do not bet on a tie, and the hands tie, your bet is returned to you.
