If the value of the hand is ten points or more, subtract ten, and the remainder is the baccarat point value of the hand. When a hand total is larger 9, the first digit is dropped (an 11 would become 1) Aces have a value of 1, two through nine are counted at face value and tens and face cards have a value of 0.
